A Journey Toward Medicine
Welcome! I’m Hilal Kabanka, a high school student from Marlton, New Jersey, with a passion for medicine, science, and service.
As an Honor Roll student at Cherokee High School, I’m exploring a future in medicine through rigorous academics, clinical exposure, and community involvement. My interests include public health, cancer biology, health equity, and surgical care — all areas I’ve deepened through hands-on programs, such as the Penn Medicine Summer Program and physician shadowing experiences.
Beyond the classroom, I’m an active volunteer with Evesham Library, and the Evesham Police Explorer Program, where I support public outreach, disaster readiness, and youth education. I also lead with creativity through my crochet initiative, AmigurumiHilal, and as a member of the Crochet for a Cause Club.
I’m proud to be a Certified SAT Tutor at Schoolhouse.world, a Congress of Future Medical Leaders nominee, and a student member of the American Nurses Association. This portfolio highlights the work I’ve done, the values I hold, and the future I’m building — one step closer to becoming a compassionate, community-centered physician.
